Company Section is a part of the Boys’ Brigade, which meets at St Andrews hall on a Wednesday night from 7.30 – 9.30pm. It costs £1 per night but there is an initial charge of £20. You will also need to buy a uniform at one point. The Company Section age group is P7 – S4.

Every night the Boys’ Brigade do many fun games in P.T., activities and drill practice. In drill practice,
you build up discipline and learn simple commands such as right turn and about turn. At P.T. you play football, dodge ball, splat and many more games. But you also do obstacle courses where you run, jump and crawl through different obstacles. The Officers take you for all the activities held in the hall. The other activities consist of cooking, bike maintenance, shoe polishing and loads more. For those activities, people come in – like Mr Penny who does the cooking classes. This year, he taught the year ones (P7s) how to make frittatas and fruit tarts. Also, from 7.00 to 7.30pm in the same hall, Mr Talman (the BB captain) takes a Drumming class to try and kick-start a 1st/2nd Helensburgh drumming band for parades.

Events like the BB’s sponsored cycle, the five a side football tournament, the Remembrance Day Parade and many others also take place. These events don’t always take place during normal times but more usually at the weekend. The Boys’ Brigade also organise a big breakfast every year.
