Today, David McDOnald has taken OSI Food Solutions into Spain, where a new high capacity processing plant operates in Toledo. The present facility will produce at 24,000 tons of chicken; that is a significant change from the previous capacity of 12,000 tons.
The latest expansion in Toledo now allows the total OSI Food Solutions to be over 45,000 tons of beef, chicken, and pork combined. The President of OSI says the total number of employees is now 160 with 20 new jobs produced by the recent start of the Toledo facility. Mr. David McDonald sees how possible it is for the company to continue to add valued service to its food service companies with its long history of adding more and more value to its partners. One concern OSI Food Solutions seeks to demonstrate in all of its facilities is the care for and sustaining the environment and the rich diversities they offer. Applying the principles of corporate responsibility and sustainability into effect is essential to OSI Food Solutions. In fact, the present plant equipment lowers the consumption of natural energy by 20%.
Alongside lowering consumption of physical strength, the facility also cogenerates its waste, which allows heat recovery from its equipment and use it to heat the facility.
